South African research on RILM

The rewards of RILM involvement are not based on monetary terms, but rather lie with furthering academic interest. This is a slow process which requires commitment, especially in the context of many difficult circumstances for music scholars in Africa that affect the amount of time and energy for submitting RILM materials. Besides the work of the National RILM Committee of South Africa, a further step in the direction of international academic exposure for published research is the involvement of individual researchers in submitting their own bibliographic information on RILM under 'Submissions by individuals'.
